Safely Measure PEEK Melt Temps!

The MTMS Kit successfully tested high melt temperature PEEK 450G!  April 2024, MTMS visited Victrex in Grantsburg, WI to test the melt temperature of PEEK 450G with the MTMS Kit.  Historically, manufacturers would remove extremely high melt temperature polymers like PEEK from an injection molding machine with a glove and insert a thermocouple probe into it risking injury.  Manufacturers know the importance of accurately measuring the melt temperature in order to have a high quality part but have had no way to properly measure the melt temperature.  The results of the testing were remarkable.  MTMS and Victrex did three runs with the following results:

Purge 1) 751 degrees F max temperature

Purge 2) 758 degrees F max temperature

Purge 3) 757 degrees F max temperature

The testing shows that it is possible to accurately and safely measure high temperature polymers like PEEK 450G!  Contact us for further details.
